The Hair Bow.

I wanted to share this story with you...

A lady wrote to me wanting to make a hair bow for the Hamil's 5-year old daughter, Cathleen. She had extra ribbon from making her own daughter a hair bow and wanted to use the remaining ribbon to make something for Cathleen. Her husband recently lost his job and she couldn't donate anything money wise. I told her the hair bow would be wonderful and would be a blessing. 

That story is the true essence of what Shower of Hope Oklahoma is all about and is a great reminder that we should GIVE.  So, please give in whatever capacity and in whatever measure you are able.

New Donation!

I sure hope everyone had safe, fun and relaxing Memorial Day weekend and holiday!   
  
Last night, I received an e-mail from a woman in Nebraska who was sitting in her basement during a tornado warning!  She e-mailed me about sending a care package to the Hamils while she's taking cover.  Talk about amazing.  She later replied to my e-mail to report that her family was safe and sound.  The outpouring of love, support and pure generosity for the Hamil Family has been amazing.  I LOVE it.  Keep it up!  


We have a new donations from a company called zCush!  zCush is an Infant Support Mat.  It's a lightweight mat designed to place and hold a newborn for greater comfort and support.  I think Catherine and Baby Girl Hamil will love it!  Please check out the zCush Facebook Page to show them some love and thanks for Helping the Hamil Family!

Remembering... And New Donations.

Today we honor those men and women who bravely fought and died in service of the military. Our thoughts are with all the families. We appreciate all you have done soldiers and are doing to keep our land free!

Look How Far We've Come...

On Friday afternoon at around 2:00 PM, Shower of Hope Oklahoma - Hamil Family had 197 "LIKES" of support.  By Saturday afternoon the "LIKES" exceeded 2,000.  The show of support, compassion and love for the Hamil Family has been simply breathtaking.  I'm in awe of how the Hamil's story has touched so many people.  I'm in even more awe by the overwhelming generosity many companies, families and individuals have already displayed.  

Just yesterday, a sweet and caring young lady named Amber, dropped off the most beautiful bracelets for Catherine and Cathleen.  As a mommy, I love homemade gifts.  The sweet thought and care that goes into homemade creations is a beautiful, selfless thing.  Thank you, Amber, for taking the time to craft such beautiful bracelets that I know Catherine and her daughter will love and treasure for a lifetime.

And Donations Keep Rolling In...

The donations keep rolling in and I'm over the moon!  I also was contacted by the Hamil Family this morning.  I had the privilege of speaking with Hank Hamil's aunt.  She and the rest of the Hamil Family are overwhelmed with the outpouring of love & support. They wanted me to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for all of your generosity. Thank you!!!  

Hank Hamil's Aunt also shared something personal with me about Catherine Hamil (the mommy). Catherine loved beautiful picture frames. She loved taking photos of her precious children & framing them all throughout her home. She loved to decorate and took pride in making her home beautiful, warm & welcoming.  Many of you have asked about giving something specifically to Catherine, so a wonderful gift for Catherine would be beautiful picture frame or something decorative for her new home.

On A Mission.

Shower of Hope Oklahoma is the "baby" of Toni Keltner. An Oklahoma resident for 30-years, Toni resides in Broken Arrow with her husband and 2 little boys. After the recent Oklahoma tornadoes, Toni was stirred to help in anyway possible. Shower of Hope Oklahoma is Toni's way of helping expectant parents and the parents of young children affected by the recent Oklahoma tornadoes.

Toni is currently gathering and accepting donations for the Hamil Family in Piedmont, Oklahoma.  Toni is collecting new baby and toddler items.  The Hamil family lost 2 baby boys (15-months & 3-years) in the Tuesday Oklahoma tornadoes.  Catherine Hamil is expecting a baby & is recovering from her injuries in the hospital. The Hamil Family also has a 5-year old daughter, Cathleen, and she is recovering in the hospital as well.

Toni has contacted the Piedmont Police Deparment, and has been told that First Baptist Church in Cashion, Oklahoma, is taking care of donations for the Hamil Family. Toni and Shower of Hope Oklahoma would like to receive as many donations as possible over the next 4 weeks and then deliver them to the Hamil Family via the First Baptist Church in Cashion.  Please consider donating a new baby or toddler item for this cause.
